This is now my second progress picture and although I haven’t lost as much weight between pictures this time I can see I have made more progress. It’s crazy to me than in only 8 weeks my body has changed so much and it gives me the drive to carry on.
Starting weight: 238lbs
Current weight: 217lbs
Total loss: 21lbs
Target weight: 175lbs
Weight left to lose: 42lbs
We had quite a busy weekend this week. Saturday I stuck to my diet because I knew Sunday would be out the window. On Sunday we went to a lake with loads of family and had a great time, but ate way to much and nothing healthy. This is probably why I only lost 1lb this week but I am so glad we did this and i didn’t completely ruin my weeks progress.
Being able to have a day every now and again to not worry about what I’m eating really isn’t a big deal for me. I’m still making progress and if it adds an extra week until I hit my target I don’t mind. I’m not going to beat myself up over having a good day.
I am still happy with my progress this week, I knew the weekend would impact it but I am still on the right track. I have continued to try being strict with myself during the weekdays and limiting any snacking to fruit.
The only time I have slipped up is after my wife and son made cookies. It’s so hard to stay away when they’re baking right in front of me but I didn’t overindulge.
This week we didn’t plan to add a new meal to our list because we didn’t have time to sort one out. But, while we were shopping we saw cranberry meatballs which we have never tried so decided to buy them. This was a good choice as it turned out to be my meal of the week. We had cranberry meatballs, veg and gravy.
I feel like every week I’ve had slip-ups to write about. So next week I want to have a good week. I’m not making any changes to my diet, I just want to stick to it and have a good week.
I can’t say my diet will ever be perfect as I am quite fussy and don’t like a lot of healthy foods. I’ll always have a sweet tooth but I am learning to moderate it going forward and have really clean weeks. I can then have the odd treat when socialising occasionally.
I’ve also been looking into how to get fit without exercise this week as I’m still not ready to set an exercise routine yet but want to burn some extra calories, so will be trying to do more around the house as and when I can.
