Three weeks in now and although I am not lacking motivation to carry on, I found a picture that I’ll be using to keep going.
This picture of me was taken four years ago on honeymoon. I lost around 50lbs before we went so I could enjoy it and not feel self conscious in just my swimming shorts. I weighed about 180lbs here which is a big difference to what I currently weigh.
My goal is to weigh 5lbs lighter than I was in this photo. I will be using it as motivation to show myself what I can look like and that it is achievable as I’ve done it before.
Starting weight: 238lbs
Loss this week: 2lbs
Current weight: 227.5lbs
Total loss: 10.5lbs
Target weight: 175lbs
Weight left to lose: 52.5lbs
Over the weekend I was a bit more relaxed on my diet than I probably should have been. We spent Saturday at the Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford with my parents.
We had a BBQ dinner and when we finished the Ice cream van just happened to pull up next to us. As it was such a hot day I thought it would be rude not to. I managed to pull it back Sunday and have a healthy day with no extra treats.
As I over indulged on the weekend I have made sure to stay on track this week. It hasn’t been easy with such lush weather. I just want to sit in the garden with something cold and fizzy or with an ice cream. I’ve also had to decline a chippy tea which wasn’t easy but I’m motivated more than ever right now. This is all because of the picture I found and the changes I can see in my body already.
I’ve had a few more Diet Cokes than I would like this week. Although I’m allowed them on Slimming world as they’re syn free, I do want to move away from them to just water. During this heat, water just doesn’t cut it and cold can of Diet Coke is needed. I’m not going to dwell on it as it’s not like I’ve been drinking full fat energy drinks all week and shouldn’t affect my progress.
My meal plans still haven’t changed much as I don’t feel the need to right now. As the saying goes, “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” so thats what I’m doing whilst it’s working. My Meal of the week is Chilli Con carne. Again made by my amazing wife. I’m not going to lie, she does almost all the cooking in the evenings and I wouldn’t be able to do this without her.
My weight loss has slowed this week so next week I will be aiming to drink more water and less Diet Coke to help increase my metabolism. It has been far too hot for me to do anything too physical this week but hopefully it will be a bit cooler next week and I can make a decision on what exercise I want to do. Last weekend my diet was too relaxed so I will be more strict this weekend.
