So I haven’t started the new year well. My first weigh-in after New Year’s Day and I’ve gained a pound. This was expected as I’ve barely stuck to my plan for the second week after Christmas.
Starting weight: 238lbs
Loss this week: -1lbs
Current weight: 200lbs
Total loss: 38lbs
Target weight: 175lbs
Weight left to lose: 25lbs
The blur between weekend and weekday over Christmas makes it hard to remember what we did when, so I’m just going to write it all in one place.
I had planned to get back on track this week and get rid of the Christmas weight. This has been too much of a challenge though. We had so much food leftover afterwards that I didn’t want to waste it. We also had so many treats, the temptations were too great.
I did manage to stick to my diet all day at the start of the week but as we got to the evening the habit of sitting in front of the TV with some chocolate became too familiar. I decided to give up again and wait until after New year.
New Year’s day was spent with loads of family we haven’t seen for months With a big buffet full of amazing food which I definitely overindulged in.
I’ve been back on track for just one day now but I’m sure my weight gain would have been higher this week if I hadn’t.
I am determined to get back on track next week and stick to plan. One big thing I want to increase is my water intake it has dropped a lot lately.
I also want to get back to exercising again so Monday I will be starting the abs and core challenge from scratch again. Also, I’ll be getting back on the air bike. Hopefully, it won’t take me long to get back to 18km in 30 minutes.
What I started my journey I set out the below goals:
- Reach my goal weight of 175lbs
- Run 5km in 25 minutes on the treadmill
- Attempt a tough mudder or similar event
- Run an actual race, 5k or 10k
I have some more goals I want to add this year:
- Run a virtual race – I’ve only just heard about these and they look like a fun way to join a race
- Get a six-pack before I’m 30 – This is only 6 months away so it’s a big challenge but one I really want to complete.
